Welcome...

Welcome...

... to the conference entitled "From birth to happy mom: the childbearing year”.

IUGA ENDORSED EVENT

During this conference we want to bring together national and international speakers to share their enthusiasm with you - physiotherapists with expertise in perinatal and pelvic physiotherapy.
The ability to guide and support young women in what should be the "most wonderful period" of her life, is amazing. It is a natural process that is not always easy.
We healthcare providers are closely involved in this entire process and want to share as much knowledge as possible to ensure the mother has a fantastic experience. It's "her" party, after all.
We provide both preventative and curative support. We know that staying active is a plus during the childbearing year, which is why discussing adapted exercise is of great importance, together with healthy eating.
Personal grooming is also an important element for young pregnant women and woman who have just given birth. It is important to focus on body weight, changes in the body shape and skin hygiene.
Avoiding unnecessary anxiety, reassuring women in case of complaints and passing on positive information, in a word "body-awareness" all play a big role in a successful pregnancy.
Every woman is unique and plays the lead role in her own story.
In short, as therapists, we are responsible for the success of "the childbearing year", both physically and mentally.

During this 3-day conference, you will not only receive a lot of positive professional information, the BICAP organization will also take care of your culinary and cultural enjoyment.
Bruges is a historic city with a rich history. It is worth taking a few extra days to enjoy this city, which is also called "Venice of the North": its many romantic squares and alleyways, museums, boating on the canals of Bruges, a ride in a horse-drawn carriage, good food, cozy hotels, cycling along the canals and much more.... It will surely charm you!

On behalf of the entire BICAP team, I wish you a warm, enjoyable and educational stay.

Christine Van De Putte
Chairman of BICAP
